Fiber Cementitious Panels (FCP) are a composite material made from wood pulp, cement, reinforced cellulose fibers, and other additives. Their popularity in the U.S. began in 1987 when James Hardie introduced the first asbestos-free FCP, known as “Hardie Board.” Since then, fiber cement panels have become a widely used solution in the residential and commercial building industries. Among the most recognized brands today is Nichiha, which was originally manufactured in Japan but is now produced in the United States in a state-of-the-art facility in Macon, GA.
